About us

Long before Linda & Susan — Sisters in Stitches became a boutique, knitting was already part of our family.

Some of our favorite childhood memories are of sitting beside our grandmother while she knitted. She always seemed to have a basket of yarn nearby, and during the colder months she would make sweaters, cardigans and little gifts for the people she loved.

She taught us that knitwear could be more than something warm to wear.

It could carry time, care, memories and love.

As we grew older, that passion stayed with us. We both continued to love beautiful knits — the patterns, the textures, the colors and, most importantly, the comfort they brought.

For years, we talked about opening a little store of our own. Somewhere we could share the feeling our grandmother had given us and keep that family tradition alive.

In 2008, we finally did it.

We opened Linda & Susan with one simple goal: to create a warm, welcoming boutique filled with sweaters and cardigans that we genuinely loved ourselves.

We never wanted it to feel like a big fashion company.

We wanted it to feel like the kind of little family store where you could walk in on a cold afternoon, take your time looking through the rails and hopefully find that one sweater you immediately knew you wanted to take home.

Over the years, our collections have grown, but the way we choose them has stayed the same.

We look for pieces that feel comfortable, flattering, colorful and full of character — the kind of knitwear you can wear for morning coffee, lunch with friends, family gatherings, winter walks or simply a quiet day at home.

For us, comfort should never mean giving up feeling beautifully put together.

Why “Sisters in Stitches”?

The name has always felt perfect for us.

The stitches remind us of our grandmother, her knitting needles and the passion she passed down through our family.

But being “in stitches” also means laughing together — and after all these years, that is still something the two of us do a lot.

We are sisters first, business partners second, and through every season of life we have always had each other.

That is what Sisters in Stitches represents.

Carrying Her Story Forward

When we opened our doors in 2008, we could never have imagined how many women would eventually become part of our little story.

Every order, every returning customer and every message telling us how much someone loves their new cardigan still means something to us.

And whenever winter comes around and the shop fills with cozy knits again, we are reminded of where everything started:

Two sisters.

Our grandmother.

A basket of yarn.

And a love for creating warmth that we never wanted to lose.

More than anything, Linda & Susan is our way of keeping that passion alive and passing it forward.

Thank you for being part of our story.

With love,

Linda & Susan
